That's right, we may be seeing John McClane saving the world once more. According to sources, studio honchos are looking to take the franchise to Europe with Russia a likely location. Bruce is rumoured to be on board and a script is about to be developed.
Die Hard 4.0 divided most fans back in 2007 when the series was revived however I found it terribly entertaining throughout (yes even the harrier jet scene!). McClane was described by Timothy Olyphant's character as "an analogue hero in a digital world" which couldn't be more true. Where John settles matters with bullets and fists, other heroes such as Bond, Batman and Bourne are defeating evil with the help of fast cars, grappling hooks and rolled up newspapers!
Whether or not the franchise can truly survive in the 21st Century will
be up to the cinema going public. What do you think? Would you rather see Bruce fighting baddies or bedsores?
